Upgrade to Black Belt

A Quick Glance

The Green Belt to Black Belt Upgrade training allows certified Green Belts to enhance their Six Sigma skill set to Black Belt level within a shorter time frame. It is ideal for Green Belts who are actively using their Six Sigma skills and yet recognize that additional training and understanding of the Six Sigma methodology would benefit them professionally.

Upgrade

Ideal participants in this training will be certified Green Belts who wish to upgrade their skill sets to the certified Black Belt level. This course will build upon what was learned in Green Belt training and introduce additional and more complex tools.

A Green Belt curriculum teaches the basic problem solving skills necessary to complete a process improvement project. However, many Green Belts may discover they need an expanded tool set in order to complete larger and more difficult projects.

This Green Belt to Black Belt upgrade class will take you through the phases of Six Sigma:  Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.  The class is “hands on” in format using class projects and data within the scope of the classroom setting.

As a prerequisite for the course, participants must be a certified Green Belt with at least one completed project.  The Green Belt certification should have utilized Minitab for statistical analysis. Participants who feel their Green Belt tools are a little rusty or who need a Minitab refresher may elect to enroll in the optional two day refresher course provided before the upgrade class begins.

Anticipated topics include those listed below:

Optional Refresher Course (2 day)
  • Project Selection and Project Definition
  • Minitab Refresher
